Design of an S-band Ultra-low-noise Amplifier with Frequency Band Switching Capability
In this paper, an ultra-low-noise amplifier with frequency band switching capability is designed, simulated and fabricated. The two frequency ranges of this amplifier consist of the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz and 3.1 GHz to 3.15 GHz frequency bands. The designed amplifier has a noise figure of less than 1dB, a minimum gain of 23 dB and a VSWR of less than 2 in the whole frequency band. The design process s...
متن کاملSoft porous silicone rubbers with ultra-low sound speeds in acoustic metamaterials
Soft porous silicone rubbers are demonstrated to exhibit extremely low sound speeds of tens of m/s for these dense materials, even for low porosities of the order of a few percent. Our ultrasonic experiments show a sudden drop of the longitudinal sound speed with the porosity, while the transverse sound speed remains constant. For such porous elastomeric materials, we propose simple analytical ...
متن کاملLow-loss ultra-high-Q dark mode plasmonic Fano metamaterials.
We experimentally demonstrate a planar terahertz Fano metamaterial with an ultrahigh quality (Q) factor of 227. This is achieved by the excitation of the nonradiative dark modes by introducing a tiny asymmetry in the metamaterial structure. The extremely sharp quadrupole and Fano resonances are excited at normal incidence for orthogonal polarizations of the electric field. In order to capture t...
متن کاملNovel Low Duty Cycle Schemes: from Ultra Wide Band to Ultra Low Power
Electronic devices steadily penetrate almost every area of life and transform our surrounding more and more into a dense heterogeneous wireless network. To enable the potential of such a network, a wireless technology with high scalability potential is required supporting devices with ultra low power consumption as well as high data rates. Ultra wideband (UWB) is a promising technology inherent...
متن کاملModified U-Slot Stacked Micro-Strip Patch Antenna for Ultra-Wideband Applications in S Band, C Band and X Band
The U-slot micro-strip patch antennas were originally developed for bandwidth broadening applications. This study presents a transmission line feed to modify the U-slot stacked rectangular micro-strip patch antenna for Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) communications. The modified antenna has a U-cut loaded with parallel slits and corner slots and is printed on a dielectric substrate of FR4 with relative p...
